Why? - Well, once I'd tried to read the novelization of Peter Pan, I was never satisfied with it. Then I had the great fortune to watch the movie "Hook" again, and a line caught my attention. "What is this? Some kind of Lord of the Flies preschool?" And I got a crystal clear image of what my Peter would be. I spent a lot of time working on this bit of fiction. The first two incarnations never quite got off the ground, but after 3 years the pieces finally fit together. The whole smash was completed in 2004.

Characters - I did keep Peter's basic character the same: amoral, passionate, and amnesic. I made him a little crazier, a little more Lord of the Flies, and probably the only static major character. There's no hiding that Wendy is my favorite character. I love how she turned out, swinging from the extreme of shy to wild and back a little towards the middle. My other favorite characters aren't hard to pick out. My favorite Lost Boy is Jack, and my favorite Vigils are Farraday and Spots.
