About Me

My name is Shara. I’m 25, an Aquarius, a writer, and a lab assistant at a pathology lab. I’ve got a B.A. in English Literature from the University of North Texas. Someday I hope I can pursue Medieval Studies as a hobby, since I love it so much but graduate school gives me head explodey.

I grew up in a fair-sized city in the Texas panhandle, but I live in Dallas now and am the happier for it. I’m an only child, and I like to call myself a Western European mutt (English, Irish, and German) with a hint of Cherokee. I live with my husband and a PomChi named Bosley. I am loved, and it makes all things bearable.

I like makeup and boots and T-shirts. My fiction loves are Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey, the first four books of The Dark Tower by Stephen King, American Gods by Neil Gaiman, Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, and The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. My tastes are wide-ranging, but I am by no means well-read. I watch a lot of movies (Grosse Pointe Blank, Love Actually, and Serenity are at the top) and a lot of TV. I am an enormous fan of Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, and Firefly, though I’m prone to falling into the trap of Law & Order like many, many artists before me.

I’m something of a logical romantic, an optimist, and a hedonist. My faith is something like Christianity practiced by an Earth-Mother Zen Buddhist, but I’ve got some work to do before I’m back in a place where I’m happiest. I love food, family, warm nights, and sunshine, and I strive to find happiness where I am.
